Last Call for Strawberries
Ryan’s teacher Emily made the most fantastic dessert for our special room parent dinner a few weeks ago. It looked gorgeous in the cast-iron pan she baked it in and it tasted moist and delicious. I really want to make it, but I don’t want to eat it right now. Well, I want to eat it, but I’ve been exercising and eating carefully and I don’t want to sabotage myself by making this and eating more than my share.
But….if you are picking the seasons’s last strawberries this weekend, or going to a party… or hosting one….you should DEFINITELY make this cake.

Ryan’s teachers also taught us the best way to hull a strawberry. It’s also a perfectly (safe) way to have kids help you hull strawberries.
Just line up a straw on the bottom point of the strawberry and push it through until the stem pops offs.
